Working conditions of DC motor are different because of different industries, so the daily maintenance of DC motor’s is certainly different. Therefore, we should observe the DC motor’s working status regularly to avoid unnecessary damages.
It is very important to avoid the damages of the motor in operation that maintaining motor everyday. The most important point is inspecting and eliminating the reason of any abnormal phenomenon in time and we must take some protective measures to prevent the motor from being damaged in various situations.
1. Keeping the motor clean. There must be no more water, oil, dust, etc. In the motor internally .We should regularly remove the dust inside and outside the motor.
2. Motor temperature’s rise can not exceed the rated value.
3. Load current should not exceed rated value.
4. Refueling regularly and pay more attention to the temperature of bearing.
We should check motor regularly and pay attention to motor maintenance to ensure that motor could work normally.
1. Cleaning the motor. Removing the dust and sludge in the motor frame.
2. Checking and cleaning the motor terminal. Checking whether wiring screws of the junction box loose, burns or not.
3. Checking the screw of each fixed part , including the anchor screws, end cap screws, bearing cover screws, etc..Tightening the loose nuts.
4. Inspecting and maintaining the bearing . Bearings should be cleaned after a period of time and then replace the grease or oil.
5. We should clean the dust and dirt in the DC motor’s starting device and wipe plug timely.Checking whether there are some burn marks in the wiring and the grounding wire is good or not .
6. It must have a thorough repair after a year of operation in order to spare parts for motors, clean dust and dirt thoroughly in the motor,check insulation, check bearing and know its wear condition. Identify problems and deal with them in time.
7. Insulation inspecting. It is very important to check the drying condition of the motor winding because the insulation ability of insulation material varies according to the degree of drying.
